Very refreshing siting by the pool at Capo Faro winery. Citrus, yeasty, and a candied aroma….perhaps butterscotch. Crisp on the palette with a nice acidity. — 3 years ago
Still pretty fresh for 10 years. Chunky and chalky. Baked blue fruit, spice is where it’s at. White pepper, black walnut, cinnamon. Coating finish but lacks in complexity like other vintages — a month ago
I’ve had a few Law wines and have enjoyed them all, but this bottle of “The Nines” was a total stunner. In a lineup of 16 bottles of Grenache (Andremily, SQN, Fingers Crossed, Saxum, Lillian, Alban, Pegau Capo, Prefert, Clarendon Hills, etc), this was one of the more surprising wines of the day (in a good way).
100% Grenache. Removed the cork for about an hour ahead of time. Undeniable Grenache aromatics of red florals, cherry/kirsch liqueur, black peppered strawberries, and fruitcake. As Grenache so wonderfully does, it has a weightless yet commanding palate…kaleidoscope of red and black berries, sweet jerky, and an interplay of both sweet and spicy spices. Doesn’t show whole cluster/green hints like some of the others, and it also doesn’t show overwhelming vanilla/oak tannin either. Elegant and delicious.

Great zin. Not hot at all, great balance. Helen's. — 3 years ago
Popped and poured but not something I would recommend. The 2017 Cuvée Réservée benefited from some time in the decanter and the Cuvée Laurence would enjoy the same. However, a decanter we had not; nor was the setting appropriate. And while I wouldn’t have described this as shy upon opening, it certainly went from strength to strength with exposure to air and by the last glass, this was sensational. Beautiful dark bramble fruit, salmiakki, black pepper, red flowers, bacon fat, garrigue, old wood, and exotic spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long lasting and ever so sexy. As a reminder, no “Cuvee da Capo” was made in 2017 so there’s no wonder why this is special. Drink now through 2042. — 6 days ago
Very juicy but not overly fruit forward. Definitely some brown spice notes. Hardly any tannins. — 8 months ago

Cherry and strawberry fruit, with rose, mineral and earthy notes. Great depth and complexity. Wine Spectator rated 96 points. — 3 years ago

Deep ruby in color;blackberries, plums, and graphite on the nose; high acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like blueberries, bkackberry jam, white pepper, and clay pots with a long finish. Nellie didn't like it, but I do. — a month ago
