Asked for a glass that tastes like dirt and salt. — the waitress at Le Volpi e l’uva said that was “umami”. And for a Syrah, they nailed it. Big for Syrah. And “Umami”. Signature Syrah hint of sweetness.

An elegant drink-at-parties-with-your-pinky-up kind of wine.
Subtle sour apple and even subtler cherry and velvet mouth feel contrasted by a big finish.

Simple, beautiful and unique wine. GIven its “simplicity”, odd how few hot the target. I loved and I’m ordering more.

Bigger than most Barbarescos… earthy and dry, some must, some spice. Lovely on the tongue. Light florals. Not overpowering. Classic Italian tart / cran. Even a lemony finish.

A steal for under $30, the 2021 vintage opened up nicely. Heavy floral aromas, well balanced, smooth notes of cherry and licorice on the palette, decent bold finish, a classic Nebbiolo with a tannin forward taste and long legs. — 6 months ago
