Balsamic notes with a trace of mint. Barely medium weight with a soft fleshy palate - red cherries, spice and sweet herbs. This palate reflects the fact that 2013 was a good to very good vintage in Barolo. Great length at the finish. The first of 3 from my cellar. — 4 months ago

Medium ruby , quite wide ruby garnet rim . Really red fruited , aromatic and still quite primary . Slightly spiced red cherry , strawberry , raspberry . On the palate this has sweet red fruits , quite polished tannin and fresh acidity. Spiced cherry , rose water tinged finish of good length . Quite sweetly fruited . This is quite user friendly in some ways , without the apparent structure I was expecting . Overall it’s a enjoyable wine, but perhaps a little simplistic at the moment , maybe more will come with time ? So from now and over the next 10 -15 years perhaps ? — a year ago
Fresh, juicy, uncomplicated Barbera from 15-20 years old vines in Castiglione Falletto and La Morra. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak for 16 months. Bright ruby color. Red fruit and earthy notes. Medium-bodied, tart red fruit (sour cherry, strawberry) on the palate. Light tannin, racy acidity. — 5 years ago
Not the best showing of this wine. — 5 months ago
Decanted for 4 hours. In a spectacular way at the moment. Tannins resolved. Elegance and restrained energy — 9 months ago
Wow! Go for it! — 10 months ago
Opened about five hours prior to service. After a small pour to check color and condition, I found the wine to be a bit grumpy. Some might even believe this could be DOA but the color was good and structurally, the wine was in good shape. So, into the decanter it went. By dinner, the wine had stretched its legs and all was right with the world. The 1976 Barolo annata by Guido Giri pours a slightly garnet with an orange rim; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes resembling Christmas fruitcake; spiced cranberry and pomegranate with dried roses, truffles, cedar, saussison, blood orange pith, dried green herbs and dry dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+ and resplendent tart fruit! What a resurrection! Drink now with an extended decant. — 2 months ago
Tangy dark fruit. Great purity. On the palate a tart powerful but clean middle. Sour cherry, violets, iron, tang. Great stuff — 9 months ago
Nice medium body wine with great company! — 4 years ago
Delightful nose of cherry, raspberry, strawberry complemented by tobacco, touch of balsamic and hint of truffle. The fruits feel lightly candied on the juicy palate. Medium body, and the tannins command attention.
If the Castiglione bottling is the king, this would be the queen: lively, graceful, yet authoritative. — 5 years ago

Compared to the Giacosa Barbera 2020 (from bought grapes), this Falletto has more depth and structure. This Barbera is sourced from the estate-owned Falletto di Serralunga-vineyard and that pedigree is showing.
Still youthful, but drinking lovely now. — 23 days ago
