Château Arnaud Jouan

Cuvée Thomas Vieilles Vignes Coteaux Bourguignons Pinot Noir 2022

if all entry level burgs had this level of finesse, the world would be a better place. seamless oak integration—you really only feel it texturally and with a whisper of baking spices on the finish. the palate is all slightly desiccated but still vibrant red fruit. exciting, elegant and made my friends smile. — 2 months ago

Old bottle left over, drinking very nicely with that aged balanced complex profile. All that primary fruits resolved nicely, if I recall correctly. Glad to have left it alone. — 4 months ago

What a big surprise to see it was a Aligoté. Tasted like Chardonnay. Well done. — 3 months ago

Côtes de Castillon Red Bordeaux Blend

9.1

An oldie left from Gordon’s and the little Bordeaux is drinking so nicely, even on day three in Eto and the earthiness of day one is not as prominent but the ripe fruit mineral nose and balance and complex palate the same. Deal! Last one! — 7 months ago

Clos Puy Arnaud

Grand Vin Côtes de Castillon Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Medium deep ruby , pink rim , quite intense , with coloured tears noticeable . Quite closed but deep dark fruited , serious but compact nose , with touch of dark chocolate , grafite , blackberry , dark plum, cherry . On the palate more dark fruits , blackberry , dark plum , cherry , quite rich with dark chocolate, grafite nuances . Balanced acidity with quite gritty tannins . Slightly mineral and saline tinged on the medium length finish , with just a slight warmth from the alcohol noticeable . Certainly ambitious for a Castillion Cotes de Bordeaux , though unsurprisingly makes no mention of this on the front label ! This shows quite young , will improve over another 5 - 7 years and last a further 5-10. — 2 months ago
