A gift from the private stock of the Desfontaine family at Château de Chamilly. What a fine full-bodied Chardonnay! It has the buttery, toasty character of a ripe white Burgundy. This is no substitute for champagne, it is a whole different style of wine. Unfortunately it will only be available after the next batch is disgorged, and that might take a while as this wine stays 'sur latte' for at least 30 moons. — 11 years ago
