767 cases made. Battonage twice a week for first 2 months then once a week. 5 months on the lees.
Elderflower, lime pith, grapefruit, gooseberries and guava.
Herbaceous with slight tropical fruit.
Crisp, crisp, crisp acidity with only 11 % alcohol by volume.
Bring on the fresh oysters.

Wow a treat! Color is a dark beautiful cranberry. On the nose: essence of dark fruit and sweet floral jump from the glass with primary notes of roasted meat, wet forest floral and subtle chocolate mint. Taste: silky smooth and luscious coating the palate with red fruit, cedar, earthy soil, crushed rock and minerals with a medium plus spice dark chocolate finish. 1985 vintage. A nice surprise and another testimony to the ageing potential of the great 1985 vintage. Still a solid colour at 37 years old.
