Champ Du Lao

Champ Canet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

2014 vintage. Decanted and tasted multiple times at multiple temps from 30 mins open-3 hrs open and 45-60 degrees. Color somewhere between golden and Chartreuse yellow. Plenty of ripeness with remaining acidity crawling along the palate baseline. Do not see this improving but surmise it can hold steady at this mature Burgundy status for another 3-4 years. 02.22.25. — a day ago

Domaine Duroche

Champ Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2013

Unlike the 2013 Grand Cru where multiple bottles were not up to my standards. This from the same vintage is a little better. Nothing to ride home about though. Some cherry, tumeric. Back palate - dirt. Dusty, crushed marble. It just is NOT an interesting wine. May be this was an off vintage and it is the only one i bought - but i cannot recommend this producer. today - may be my notes will be better on day 2. — 3 days ago
