Aromas of black raspberry, kirsch, dried rose petals and herbs as well as smoked meat. Dark fruit on the palate as well as black olives, tobacco and black pepper. A bit of pleasant bitterness on the long finish. Fine grained tannins and a silky texture. Quite savory with a touch of Brett. A fine example of a wine that has benefited from proper aging. Dark cherry and black fruit flavors are complemented with Asian spices and Forrest Floor. Silky tannins and long finish. Exceptional balance. Revisited in December 2021. Still fantastic. Lovely cherry and cherry blossom nose. Cherry, cinnamon, minerals, and fresh strawberry on the palate. Medium tannins, medium alcohol, and high acid that lingers long into the finish. Beautiful structure and balance. A beautiful wine start to finish in the Burgundy style. — 3 years ago
