Second try of this … impressions somewhat different, though similar score.
NOSE: custard, almond…apricot…flan…French pastry. Canned peaches. Honeysuckle. Butterscotch - quite clearly.
TASTE: butterscotch and apricot. Tastes older than it is…though a little simple for a Sauternes. 91-92. — 4 years ago
13 really mellowed but balanced...lemon custard good acid backbone...lovely wine! — 5 years ago
Bright lemon custard, fresh herbs and lychee fruit fan out across the palate, ample rich and still quite young. This wine has many years of good drinking in front of it. — 6 years ago
Lemon custard and apple and minerality — 7 years ago
Winner. Lemon zest and just a hint of custard. Good minerality. — 7 years ago
Medium lemon color. Pronounced nose. Lemon custard, honey, quince, popcorn, Smokey. Medium+ acidity, high alcohol, medium+ body. The high alcohol and the lees mask the fruit and the resulting sensation is a lack of freshness. — 3 years ago
Lemon custard. Pairs amazing with apple and cinnamon! — 4 years ago
On the nose croissant and lemon custard, candied citrus, tick layers upon layers of golden brioche. Buttery hazelnut shows up too. The palate combines this with freshness, vibrancy and a zippy, super lengthy acidity that gives the weighty flavor a new perspective. Hadn’t tasted krug in many years, but damn it’s a revelation like the first time. Close to the 2022 P-H Rare but much more vibrant and lengthy — 5 years ago
Pale lem; medium intensity aromas of yellow apple, yellow plum, hard apricot, almonds, cream, custard, vanilla; dry, medium plus acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium plus finish, quite rich and complex while fresh — 5 years ago
I had this a number of times but, have never written notes. 🎶Tonight’s the Night!🎶
The nose reveals; lemon custard to candy, lime zest, grapefruit, pineapple, green apple, light stone fruits, green melon, lychees, cream, vanillin, light ginger, cream soda, mixed nuts, bread dough to baguette crust, light green herbs, beautiful, powdery chalkiness, sea shell fossils, volcanic minerals, yellow lilies, jasmine with mixed greens.
The body is; full, round, rich and slightly creamy. Lemon custard to candy, lime zest, grapefruit, pineapple, green apple, light stone fruits, green melon, lychees, cream, beeswax, vanillin, light ginger, white spice with some palate heat, cream soda, touch of caramel, toffee notes, nougat, marzipan, mixed nuts, bread dough to baguette crust, light green herbs, beautiful, powdery chalkiness, sea shell fossils, volcanic minerals, yellow lilies, jasmine with mixed greens. The acidity is crisp and sharp. The long finish is; rich, polished, elegant, nicely balanced, delicious and persists endlessly. Very good at its price point.

Dark straw color suggesting a bit of oxidation. Pair and honey and a little mineral like flint. Delicious apple and pear with some subtle floral notes. I like the other reviewers notes on custard. Despite no malolactic fermentation there is a creaminess to the wine. Drink now based on this bottle though could be a cork issue. — 3 years ago
Creamy notes of golden apple, buttered bread, & vanilla on the nose. Buttery like a Chardonnay up front. Acid & green notes on the mid-palate—kiwi, green grass, green apple, & pear. Crisp, honeyed apple finish with notes of honeysuckle, white flower, caramel, & vanilla custard. Unique wine, and pairs beautifully with my spicy Massaman curry. — 3 years ago
Baked blood orange, honey, roasted pineapple, maple syrup, candied nuts, ripe white flowers on the nose. Awesome underlying acidity. Medium finish of praline, vanilla custard, honey. — 5 years ago
Toasty, custard, smoked pear, sugared grapefruit, green apple skin, accented by a string of minerality. This jumps out of the glass. Mouthcoating with rich, layered green apple, pear, and lime zest flavors. Asian spices pop with time. Balance is impeccable. Acid is still impressive, with length and evolution to finish. Wow! Paired with smoked salmon over a cream based pasta. — 6 years ago

Great as always but I am going to age the other remaining for a couple of years, great mix of minerality , acid and cream mouthfeel. Get the lemon custard and some other white stone fruit — 3 months ago
