Tons to unwind here. Black and green olives, clay and uncooked peat, multi grain bread, pecan, black sesame, mushroom fricassee, grilled filet with beurre blanc and jus. Sage, mint, and tarragon. All cohesively woven together; immaculate. That’s just the nose. Graphite and oak pencil the initial signature, which delineates the oeuvre. The cherry life cycle, from underripe to dried expressed in black and red; still-grainy tannins supporting. Raspberry tart, briary berrries. Rooibos tea, cinnamon and clove. Impeccable.

Competently made wine, but Leoville Barton is always my least favorite of the Leovilles. Just not very exciting or dynamic. Served with braised short-ribs in a savoy cabbage, with potato Napoleon, confit carrots, and a bitter chocolate jus. The chocolate actually helped the Leoville Barton significantly more than when it was on its own. — 3 months ago
Great but very sweet. More dessert wine. Non alcoholic. — 2 years ago
Pretty ruby dress with brillance. Open nose, very Burgundian, between red fruits (cherry) and toasted oaky notes. Mouth, consistent with the nose, delivering as you taste many aromatic nuances, undergrowth among others. A lot of freshness yet for this 2015, it can still be drunk and evolve for several years.
— 2 years ago
Love this every vintage. As is par for the course, this is a little fizzy (barely) for the first couple months after release, so just decant an hour before or the day before and you’re good to go. So smooth, lighter than last vintage but pure drinking pleasure. Super food friendly with blackberry cobbler, blueberries, savory thyme, au jus and nice thin tannins to the finish. NBI — 2 years ago
Bright light purple dress. Pure explosive nose on fruits (red and black) and flowers, typical of carbonic maceration. In mouth the first is light, airy, confirming the nose; carried by a beautiful necessary freshness balancing the little terroir extraction. A modern, "natural" wine, on the fruits at first fond that does not prevent a certain complexity from expressing itself on a peppery and mineral finish. A very beautiful juice to drink from the aperitif, which blindly could pass for a rosé.
— 2 years ago
