La Tâche Pinot Noir 1980

What an extraordinary nose. Wild strawberry, violets, cherry pop, plums, mushrooms. This is enchanting and dynamic. On the palate light and subtle. Delicate., quite haunting with a pretty spring sweetness. This is lovely. — 10 days ago

Château d'Ampuis Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2003

Nose was closed for the first 90 mins. Now giving way to gentle tobacco and dark cherry A touch dry on the front of the palate but rounds out into a juicy and long finish. Very nice. — 15 days ago

Richebourg Pinot Noir 1999

Powerful and zesty. Deep and complex. Beautiful and rich… plum and gnarly fruit. Still quite young. Years ahead. — 10 days ago

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

A wine I have purchased every year since the 05 vintage. This vintage is more open, approachable that had rich dark cherry, berry fruit, savory spice, underbrush, mineral & violet. — 6 days ago

Domaine Jamet

Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2012

Amazing vintage for Jamet that you can drink now but will continue to develop for many years. Consistent with my many prior notes showing lots of dark cherry, raspberry, meat, blood, olive, pepper, spice & crushed violets — 5 days ago

Domaine Georges Roumier

Clos de la Bussière Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

I’ve always found these wines to need just so much age to show well (I do think that changed starting in 2017), but at age 12 Roumier’s Bussiere is absolutely ready to go after sufficient air, wafting gorgeous, distinctive aromatics synonymous with Roumier even if it’s not Chambolle. It’s dark fruited but well defined, perfumed with violets, cocoa bean and exotic spices. The palate shows the density and concentration of the vintage with both power and elegance, fine grained tannins and a saline-mineral laced finale. Fantastic showing of 2012 Clos de la Bussière with many great years ahead. — 7 days ago

Gorgeous roses and soft plum. A super expressive and beautiful nose. Just goes in forever and the fruit is so poised and succulent. Sift, delicious and long- this is brilliant stuff — 24 days ago
