I’ll stand by my June 24, 2021 rating. Consistently great. — 3 years ago
2020/5/24 with grilled ribeye, eringi with fennel, tarragon and chives, whitebait aglio olio and radicchio salad. This had a wonderful balance of taut structure and fruit intensity, while still remaining light and translucent. That, with the red fruit and spice nose, gave it an almost Burgundian feel - it was also quite distinct from the other Fay bottles. — 5 years ago
Pairs excellent with bolognese and steak. Excellent! — 3 months ago
Funky and fruity. — 4 years ago
Lovely dark fruit complex nose with a dark red color and a full body that is complex with a fairly long aftertaste. Big enough to stand up with a 2005 Stags Leap Fay Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. — 5 years ago

2001 | Cabernet Sauvignon
Stags Leap Wine Cellars; FAY
(94.83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3.74% Merlot, 1.43% Petit Verdot)
Napa Valley; California, USA
(92-94; Drink 2021-36)
Our second go at this bottle in about two years, notes consistent; perhaps this bottle was showing younger, suggest futures will drink well through 2036+.

Decant and pour. A splendid dark purplish garnet color. On the nose: inviting aeromatics jump from the glass with dark cherry jam, graphite, herbaceous, vanilla oak, floral. Taste: blackberry/black cherry, crushed stone ,tar, spice, and a medium plus tannic kick me wine. Like to try again in a few years. — 2 months ago
