Very good Malec’s 6-10-22 — 3 years ago
The 2019 Mâcon La Roche Vineuse Vieilles Vignes is completely barrel fermented; however, since ‘03 Merlin has utilised less new oak, currently using around 10-15%. The 2019 is well-defined on the nose with hints of white flowers and orange blossom. The palate is quite spicy and peppery, a powerful Mâcon with just a light touch of honey towards the finish. Very fine. (Neal Martin, Vinous, November 2021)

2017 -Vintage - cherry fruit ,olive, slight white pepper, earth, soft tannins - this might have fooled me if I had it blind ( still very good) — 8 months ago
2022/5/28 with tai sashimi 2 ways, tomato in dashi, chicken and new onion in pea and white miso soup, etc. There may be some bias since I’ve been looking for bottles like this since being reminded of how good classicist white Burgundy is with Kyoto food, but this really did it, and even more so considering the price. Savory, salty minerals, butter and citrus, the requisite oak, some honey from maturity - it all just works. — 3 years ago
Wow! So good. Enjoyed at Bin 152 in Charleston SC. — 2 years ago
Excellent…deep dark inky tannic Pinot….reminiscent of a Morgon Beaujolais…may have been a fruit bomb once but after 10 years mellowed yet still full of fruit - more blackberry than cherry. Would have been perfect T-giving wine. Goes without saying J preferred the fresher, cherrier SLB last night — 3 years ago
