Crisp, not too sweet —perfect aperitif IMHO — 2 months ago
A little more beauty & fine elegance over the 2020.
Nose shows nice ripe, dark core fruits with fresh dark floral and spice.
The palate shows; lush mouthfeel with thick, ripe M+ tannins, blackberries, black raspberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, plum, creamy raspberries & purple fruits, fresh & dry tobacco, used raw leather, nice mid level baking spices, crushed, dry limestone, dry top soil, mix of some fresh & dry herbs, excellent level of dark spice-not overdone, anise, caramel, milk & dark chocolate, dark & red flowers framed in liquid violets, excellent round acidity with a velvety, lush, elegant finish that is very well balanced, structured that lasts 90 seconds. — 3 months ago
Drinking very well right now (2024). Critics said to drink up but I found it still having strong fruit balancing the dirt. Reminded me of some lovely aged Bordeaux I've had in the past. I'd enjoy now or over the next few years if you're lucky enough to have any bottles. Cheers! — 2 months ago
Big & bold. Ripe dark fruit, spice, etc…Evolved yet still developing. Really loved the complex tertiary flavors starting to appear. One complaint: WHOPPING 14.7%! — 3 months ago
The last time I had this was at The French Laundry trying to convince someone to support a nonprofit I love. The subsequent gift was generous but, somehow, underwhelming. This wine is like that. A great vintage, a great vineyard, in great hands, but it had so much more potential. I’m not whining about a 97-point wine; I’m lucky to enjoy it. But it could’ve been even more. — 2 months ago
Nice balance with only mild sweetness, Paired perfectly with Chinese food with any Asian dishes. Drank in November 2024 — 2 months ago

2021 vintage. Medium body but filled with old-school passion, love and flavors. More than a hint of mint on the thrashing, tannic finish. Previous, similarly priced efforts from this producer left me indifferent/cold. It takes a lot to awaken certain things these days but this one got the overly jaded California Cab palate fired up again. 01.15.25. — 17 days ago
