Lovely nose of tobacco hint of chocolate and slight floral notes. Judy and full bodied. Nice acidity and backbone. Softening pleasantly after 90 minutes well done Still years to go on this but drinking well. #flaccianellodellapieve bravo! — 5 years ago
Wowie holding up great. Thought it was raisiny to start with but it then went in reverse and tightened up with an hour. Really lovely dried herbs, red fruits, sandalwood and a little nag champa. Stellar and super fun to try a 22 year old Pinot. It could be nothing other than California and honestly SLH in particular which is a good thing because Burgundy belongs in burgundy and the Pisoni’s belong in SLH. Bravo — 2 years ago
Drinking amazingly well right now with a brief decant, this offers deep and bright black currents and a great finish. Has the acidity and stuffing to stand up to ribeye steaks we were having. Bravo. — 7 years ago
Bucket-list Dominus dinner at Next in Chicago with Christian Moueix and seven vintages of Dominus. I poured a glass for Monsieur Moueix and had him sign the bottle. Wine was absolutely singing at 28 years old… still medium deep purple with resolved tannins and expected sediment. Bravo Christian… and thank you for your efforts. — 3 years ago

Pure gamey, earthy and smoky Sierra Foothills Syrah, this has aged effortlessly, balance, acidity, complexity, presents as quite French in style, my three favorite reds from Hank and Caro were always the Home Vineyard (until yields got so low I couldn’t even buy it), then the Sumu Kaw Syrah, and the Cedarville Vineyard Mourvèdre (I think the 2007 of this latter wine was the first “released” LCF red wine)!! This has 5+ years of further aging ahead, beautiful red (13.5% ABV)!! Bravo to Hank and Caro!! — 2 months ago
