Dutch chocolate with blackberries and mint, rich dirt, dark tobacco, flux smoke on copper. Tar and black currant, smoky, black cherry wash the tongue, graphite is strong and remains indelible throughout. Gets smoky with a walnut edge. Note this is Flux red blend (not Rose) and Last Bottle says the winemaker Jon Keyes worked for Mark Herold but this isn’t a MH wine…..ANYWAY it’s a very agreeable blend at an exceptionally agreeable price ($16) at LB - beautiful blackberry tones on the nose, light on the palate but not too fruity - I think some age would work well - reminds me of the FC Siena tho J thinks it’s lighter — 4 years ago

This is the 100% grenache, not the 85% grenache with some syrah, etc. The color is inexplicably light, not rosé, but literally closer to that color than a young, dense syrah. The color belies a thicker body and mouth feel, nice tannins. Drinking well. Solid effort. — 10 years ago

Herbaceous and sharp as olive oil with its hot streak. Very smooth and races off like flux to reveal an almost basil and mint combo. Would love to see this beauty paired with the perfect dessert. — 11 years ago

Nice, young grenache. Tannic but approachable. This will soften with age, but I'm not sure that's a positive. It's drinking well now, and I'll admit I enjoy the faint heat on the finish. — 10 years ago

After drinking Abstract and Flux, which were very nice bottles, I found this wine to be very pleasant. The taste was well balanced and smooth with a hint of the aroma you would find in older more developed vintages. This is a classy one without having to break the bank. — 11 years ago
