Bright gold with coppery overtones. Unctuous nose of honey, dried apple., and clay! Palate is full and complex yielding layers of dried apple, white flowers, burnt marzipan, hay, and cinnamon bark. Acidity is firm from entry to finish. Finish is long and recalls the earthier earlier flavors. Wow. I may not think of Vermentino the same way. A complex, layered white with enough "stuff" to compliment a wide range of foods from seafood to poultry to (yes) lighter cuts of beef. Drink now through 2027. — 2 years ago
Naked. Very enjoyable with chocolate. — 3 years ago
Nose has that classic confectionary Sangiovese fruit. Cherry flower, cherry spice, herbs and lovely earthy aromas. Great mint as well. Also some Valhrona chocolate. Palate is rich and linear with lovely freshness, acids and depth. A very clean wine and superb length. Great delineation, purity and balance. Good tannic structure for short term aging. Maybe even mid term aging. — a month ago

What a great example of the region the way the additions of Croatina and Vespolina complement the Nebbiolo all grown on the acidic volcanic soil of the region. Red berry flowers mint. Very alpine feel. Plus built to drink early. — 8 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2013 Inferno Sesto Canto Riserva pours a luminous, pale garnet color with a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. The nose is soaring out of the gate with remarkably pretty red fruit notes: strawberries, raspberries, cherries, red flowers, rocky earth and exotic spices. On the palate, medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and hugely satisfying. The 2013 Inferno Sesto Canto is inimitable in its purity and elegance. A wine of class. This was a beautiful pairing with risotto age shaved truffles. Drink now and through 2033. — 9 months ago

A fresh, vibrant, and intensely flavorful Sangiovese (85) /Cabernet Sauvignon (15) blend. Begins with aromas of fresh cherry & plum with undertones of clove & sweet tobacco. A perfect pairing with homemade lasagna, and worth noting improved after a decant and into day 2! [9/6/24] ($18) — 17 days ago
