Old Vines California Zinfandel 2021
This is a purely subjective and personal observation, but I find wines over 15%, like most of the Turley Zins are, tiring to drink. Ridge keeps theirs under 15 and I find them more exciting and balanced.
@Tom Casagrande generally agreed. I actually think Mathiasson’s zins are also great - and some are under 13% and yet still not unripe

Deep Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of dark berry fruits, cacao, sweet spice and herb notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, dark cherry and black plum with cacao, vanilla, black pepper and earthy notes. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, sweet spice and earthy mineral character. Nice! — 4 months ago
