Pretty good stuff from That Boutique-y Whisky Company. This time a Glenallachie. Spiced pear and a hint of orange. Tasty. — 10 years ago
2023 Whisky Advent Calendar, Day 12: Not exactly sure what this was. Booklet described the 2023 bottling of the 2012 Cuvée cask finish but the illustration picture is the 7 yr old Hungarian oak. Judging from the website descriptions I think it might have been the latter, but not sure. Will have to contact the store. Nose is very grape-y but also maybe chocolate. Flavor is fruity with a bit of citrus and a faint bit of peat at the end. — a year ago
Douglas Laing's "Old Particular" has a peppery nose, a toffee and honey palate, and a spiced and vanilla finish. Light in color due to sherry butt casks, this single malt is 48.4% alcohol/volume and there were only 312 bottles produced. A great Speyside single malt distilled in 1999 and bottled in March 2015. Great to just sip with a little water or ice. Smoother than John Coltrane. — 9 years ago
