The 2022 Chianti Classico Pèppoli, the entry-level offering from Antinori, is a fine introduction to the year that shows just how compelling this vintage can be. Bright, floral and beautifully lifted, the 2022 is all class. The understated, refreshing style is so compelling. $21.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2024) — 9 days ago
Very nice with gnocchi. A food wine. Lots of tiny legs streaming down the glass. Wonderful to sip by the Opera Di Santa Maria Del Fiore. — 10 days ago
The nose is intense, intense, ripe cherry, almond, black tea, soy sauce, this is complex and inviting. The palate is acid driven, showing some young and lively tannins, but it's rich, broad, with some matter on the side, cherries and black tea notes, a bowl of a mid palate with that tannic effect, and a long tannic finish with cherry, a tiny salty, savoury note, some black tea and a bit of a zing thzt lasts for a good minute. Good stuff — 22 days ago
This bottle had been cellared since release and cork was in near pristine condition. At 54 years old, it remains a deep garnet/purple and now with loads of sediment. Classic Rioja character with dried black cherry, toasted coconut, cedar, dried flowers, leather and earth. The structure remains intact and the acid is still pretty fierce. This should continue to age very well if conditions are good. — 8 days ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed with a simple meal of pasta all’arrabbiata and over the course of a few hours. The 2021 pours a deep ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, orange bitters, exotic spices, black tea, black licorice, some dried green herbs and gravely earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and lithe in body. I’ve long been a fan of Fèlsina fan and their Chianti Classico and Riserva especially so. When it’s a great vintage like 2021? Back up the truck. These will drink well through 2031 with ease. I can’t wait to try the CCR! — 13 days ago
