Weiss & Grau Burgunder Weißburgunder Grauburgunder 2020

Recently I’ve found some of their stuff hit or miss but this is no joke especially for the price. Great “orange” wine with nice fruit, depth, acid, hint of grip, and verve. Not really any “natural” funk, perhaps the bottle age has evened it out. — 16 days ago

Unreal nose, floral, honeyed, peanut butter, textured and deep, silky and so refined, so so refined. Juicy and clean, and mineral, and fine brown butter flavors, some stone fruits, awesome. Best ever. — a year ago

Jaspis Alte Reben Grauer Burgunder 2014

Wow. What a bizarre yet beautiful evolution.

Nose: white flowers. Age. Crazy. Dried apricot.

Palate: dense. Orange. Chewy.

Utterly singular.

Aromas are there at arms length - wild orange and baked peach cobbler. Accents of cinnamon, orange zest and bourbon spiked vanilla ice cream. Fun mix in lower amplitudes. — 3 years ago

I love this wine but I’ll admit it’s niche. Glorious confectionary nose. Clearly too young, as this wine really sings starting at 10, but whatever, I got too much wine to drink them all at the perfect time. Sweet wood, stone fruits and intense minerality. Some pollen as well on the nose. Such a complex nose. But in 5 years watch out! Palate is so elegant and rich but fresh from the minerals and not the acid which is merely solid. Really coats the tongue. So good. The finish is stone fruits, sweet wood and that rock licking feeling on your tongue. Just a killer Grau because it’s got that Laible magic. — 10 months ago

Fabulous wine

Gut Hermannsberg

Weisser Burgunder 2018

From two estate vineyards, aromas of fruit and floral spice, fermented in 600-liter casks. On the palate flavors of ripe apple, pear and nutty floral notes. Medium finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit and toasty spice. — 3 years ago
