With duck and escargot! 🇫🇷 for akiko bday! — 4 years ago
10/2020. Great wine and price point. 100% Gamay. Bold flavor and finish. Paired well with the escargot at Black Rooster. — 6 years ago
This is a very nice and balanced Rosé. Mineral driven front with nice weight. Strawberry and a hint of herb occurring early on the palate. Not too sweet or tart. The wine sort of thins out in the middle which definitely helps it to complement a wide variety of foods. This bottle was served with escargot, stuffed chicken, and herbed/grilled salmon and did a wonderful job of complementing all three. Finishes with gripping acidity when consumed alone..... we had to slow it down or else the bottle was going to be gone before the food came out! — 8 years ago
Light but not simple. Hints of cranberry up front with anise on the finish and raspberry throughout. Silky smooth mouthfeel. A great find for our traditional Bourgogne meal of oeuf meurette, escargot, boeuf Bourgogne. — 8 years ago
Drinks like a fairly full bodied vintage. Very nice. Enjoying with escargot, mussels and steak! — 2 years ago
Very very nice. Light and crisp and perfect with our lunch of Dorrado, Escargot, and Crab Back! — 2 years ago
Chilled this burgundy felt restrained, minimal, and one dimensional. As it opened up though, paired with a delicious bouillabaisse, escargot and the best foie gras I’ve ever had, thus started to really come into its own. Medium body, a refined minerality but with delicious notes of crisp apple, baking spice, and an some richer, pastry like notes on the finish, this wine truly came into its own with some warmth and time. Not too rich, not too dry, a perfect balance of crisp fruit, minerality, and baked richness for shellfish dishes with a tomato base. — 4 years ago
5/2021. Nice wine. Medium bodied, balanced and nice on the palate. Paired well with the beef tartar and escargot at Black Rooster. — 5 years ago
Light straw in color with a light golden hue.
Fruity nose citrus, lemons green apples, limes, white grapefruits, minerals, light grass, and white pepper.
Light to medium in body, crisp refreshing and smooth, with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with grapefruits, green apples, white pepper, minerals, spices, herbs, light tropical fruits, pineapple and lemon juice.
Long finish with limes.
This is a wonderful aged white from the Loire Valley. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing great complexity and a great mouthfeel.
This 21 year old is nicely balanced and so so good. Still crisp and engaging.
Way better after 30 minutes of airtime. What a great evolution on this wine. Right out of the bottle it is unbalanced with gooseberries (cat's pee) nose, which disappears. After an hour, flowers like jasmine come in on the nose.
I paired it with a few appetizers escargot, smoked fish and tuna tartar.
12.5% alcohol by volume. — 8 years ago
This juicy Grüner Veltliner has crisp acidity ands great depth of flavor with lemon, green apple, pear, yellow plum, fennel, white pepper, stone, hay, honeysuckle and a long finish. Medium body asks wonderful with grilled shrimp and an escargot pot pie (seriously good). Great value — 2 years ago
Solid bottle of Chablis, nose was a bit restrained but the wine opened up as it warmed, nice weight on the palate, good acidity and some richness, silky texture, great with our escargot and mussels. — 4 years ago
Wha wha weeee waaah. Teleportation straight back to burgundy - escargot under the clock tower, lunch on a bike ride of the country. Beast. Doesn’t get much better. — 5 years ago
A bit spicy but so fire with escargot as an app. Had my last glass with the scallops also 😋 — 6 years ago
Drinking well now. Give it some time to open but pairs well with muscles, steak frites, and escargot. Holds up. Nice finish. Classic French. Would buy again. — 8 years ago
