This is really good with stewed veal or bolognese — 2 years ago
Night one at Bern’s, from deep in the cellar. Bottle is in great condition. Decanted and poured. Great color. Dark ruby center with clear rims. Translucent. Awesome nose. Notes of red fruit, cedar desk, dusty earth, Cuban cigar, cherries and some white pepper. Light on its feet at first but firms up nicely with air for a few hours, then plateaued before softening up later on. Really good showing. — 3 years ago
1929 vintage...bit Stew-y but wow the profile and finish rushed at you but lingers on finish like some exotic elixir from unknown tree...memorable wine for the ages! — 6 years ago
Unbelievably amazing. I was not expecting that. Can’t imagine it any better — 6 years ago
Delicate edges with a rose center. A subtle nose with spice, soy, roses, a bit of stink. There’s a salty freshness to this still and gorgeous soft presence. A hint of mint and drying notes on the finish. Pre La Tache. From the Doris Duke cellar. This is unbelievable. — 7 years ago

Did manage to lift my mood a tad. Appropriate last wine of 2024 (though I had another bottle earlier in the year during champagne bingo banko). 31/12-2024 — a year ago
