Vintage 2011 | In praise of the cooperatives ☺️ This wine from Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Abouriou was really hard when young. And now after 12 years it reveals its qualities: cherries and spices in smell, smooth velvety taste, very vibrant and still with tannins present. It gives joy. Paired with spaghetti garlic, anchovies and parsley. — a year ago
A medium lemon color with a plethora of small bubbles. The nose is rather intense right of the bat with so much fruit all at once. Strawberries and raspberries with peach cobbler. The citrus aromas kick in and dominate after some air.
Single plot Pinot Meunier from the Vallée de L’ardre. Aged on lees for three years and very distinctive. Full bodied and savory, there’s depth and quite a bit of charm. Brioche and green apples on the palate with just a hint of chalk and roasted almonds. A fun new discovery for me. — 9 months ago

This starts singing a song right off the bat with a very classic Champagne nose featuring toasted brioche and nuts, quite autolytic. Citrus fruits come with time but apples are dominant here on the nose. The floral accents are the real star here. Really nice balance on the nose.
Pure Pinot Noir from Verzenay and Verzy. Aged for three years on lees, with 30% coming from reserve wines dating back to 1968. Zippy acidity with good structure and balance throughout. Big, bold, and not a little bit burly but there’s still refinement and class.
Fresh and vigorous, this punches above its weight. Almonds and apples on the tongue initially. There’s a little peach and pear with toast for good measure. Grand Cru goodness. — 2 months ago
