Hallowine! Dead souls, vampire blood, the netherworld. The standard sitch! — 2 years ago
Cassis and oak - the latter quite noticeable. From a ripe year where the fruit should be apparent but at the moment the oak dominates - mocha notes, but then again still has a huge future. Amazing what a solid core of self contained full body this has for 16 years of age, but still of profound intensity - dark chocolate and black currant. Will go on for literally decades - only have 2 left. Penfolds “Rewards of Patience “ say through to 2050! That is not as crazy as it sounds. Grapes sourced from 2 vineyards, high altitude sandy souls in Vera d’Alba & Renesio Incisa cru in Canale. Originally called "Nebbiolo bianco" due to the shape of the bunch and the size of the berries similar to Nebbiolo, also known as white Barolo. Pale lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with honey notes. On the palate flavors of lemon, apple and herb character. Medium+ finish, lively acidity balance, ending with citrus and mineral character. Nice value! — a year ago
Initially very candy-like! Then settled in to “whatever”. — 4 years ago

From steep sloping Hidden Ridge Vineyard. Mostly Cabernet with Petite Verdot (2.5%) blended in. Dark ruby color. Aromas of dark bramble berry fruit with hints of coffee, lavender and sweet spices. The expressive palate is full of black berry/plum and blueberry fruit with additional notes of tobacco, black tea, and dark coffee. Pleasant sweet spicy/oaky and very long finish. Dense, complex, rich and extremely well balanced. Part of the North Shore House (Paired with a fig dessert) Wine Pairing Dinner on March 9, 2024. — 8 months ago
Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, blossom and sweet spice, spending 20 months in new French oak, grapes grown mostly in alluvial sandy souls. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with notes of licorice, cacao and spice, savory. Full fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and mineral character, slight alcohol presence. Tried about a year ago, aging well! — 3 years ago
