Soliste Pierry 1er Cru Les Gouttes d'Or Pinot Meunier 2015

Quite light golden yellow colour . Quite deep yellow fruits , touches of pastry , roasted nuts . Very complex needs a bit of time to open. On the palate pretty big , yellow fruits again , with that pastry element . Long and elegant acidity, with mineral , saline finish . Now and for the next 5- 7 years . — 2 years ago

Solessence 7 Villages Champagne Blend

Well balanced and citrusy notes. Low dosage. Yet not as good as a similar low dosage NV Bereche I had a few days ago. — 3 years ago

Solessence Brut Nature Champagne Blend

2024 winter. L 1020SLN15, deg. Oct 2020. Not sure if Delectable doesn’t have a separate label for the Élevage Prolongé, which is what this is… in any case, a lovely nose showing the caramel and nut notes from the 50% perpetual reserve used. On the palate, much more steely and tight than the nose would suggest. I did feel like this was an example where zero dosage leaves the wine a little thin and stretched; it seems like this doesn’t happen so much even in wines with just 2 or 3 g/l. — 10 months ago

7 Villages Solessence Rosé Champagne Blend

Really stellar with each release. Lot 19 took a minute to come around, but it’s settling in. 50% CH / 40% Meunier / 10% PN. Just down the hill from Laherte, in the Selosse mold, these wines combine richness (though not quite as much so as the latter) with razor sharp acid. Love the freshness/richness dichotomy of these Sud d’Epernay producers. — a year ago

Solessence Brut Champagne Blend

This is really nice. Medium straw with highly active effervescence. Immediately upon opening you’ll be caressed by apple aromas. Red and green varieties. Ripe pears and peaches and luscious elderberries. A small, small touch of bread but a nice wallop of roasted nuts.

Reserve wines make all the difference. Based on a single vintage but with an added 50% of the blend coming from those reserve wines and you definitely notice it. 50/40/10 CH/PM/PN from vines averaging 40 years of age. Extra Brut dosage of only 2 g/l so this wine really sings and hits the high notes. Amongst other entry level bottles, this is clearly heads and shoulders above so very many with insane QPR.

Utterly refined with terrific acidity and depth. Loads of character and personality for days. Rich and textured and deep and so lovely. Nice salinity and more than a bit vinous in nature. Really nice stuff.
