Nice for a steak dinner at a restaurant for a reasonable price. Pop and pour Zinfandel blend. Deep color, fruit and spice aroma. Palate is heavily red Zinfandel with dark berries, plum, and spice - pepper with a hint of nutmeg and vanilla. Balanced tannins and acidity. Short but pleasant finish. — 6 months ago

The boisterous nose is worth the entire price of admission on this one. Cedar, cassis, black and red berries, gravel, graphite, roasted herbs. Dark and intense in the mouth. Flavors on the lower end of the register. Tacky tannins still very present, but the flavors are nicely evolved. I’d say this is peaking soon, and probably won’t live to see the tannins totally softer, but they’ll be tamed by the porterhouse I’m about to grill. — 4 months ago
At our second special Caymus dinner on Sky Princess serving this wine. I’ve had lots of Caymus wines over the years. This is in line with the brand, but not what I remember from the wines from the late 70’s. As the price increased, I lost interest. Lovely balanced cab from one of my favorite vineyards. It used to be my daily drinker until Beringer doubled the price. Got this one at Costco for $14 and it drinks like a classic $30 Napa Cab. Finished the last glass after bottle was open for 3 days and it was highly enjoyable! great bouquet and long aftertaste. — 4 months ago
