Rojac

Istra Refošk 2020

Another vintage of an old favorite. Deep red color. Aromas of dark berry fruit, leather, dried herbs and forest floor. Flavors of sour cherries, ripe strawberries, black raspberries, balsamic vinegar, sweet and earthy spices along with those dried herbs. Long, peppery, earthy and slightly sour finish. Nice complexity. Quite rustic but quite austere at the same time. Not overly acidic and oak notes are at a minimum. — 5 months ago

Hrvatska Istra Malvazija 2020

Zesty and lively, this Croatian white pops with citrus, white peach, and almond notes. A great foil for rotisserie chicken and a warm early-summer evening. 100% Malvazija. 6/12/22. — 4 years ago

Kras Vitovska 2022

Farm yard nose and metallic peach. We’re not in Italy. More Malvasian with acid drive as it warms up. Med+ body. Unique and pleasing. — 9 months ago

Vipava 1894, Pinela “Lanthieri” v.2022, Vipava Valley, Slovenia 🇸🇮

Overview:

Aromas & Flavors:
Quince, kumquat, citrus zest, white stone fruit, and subtle herbal freshness.

Mouthfeel:
Crisp, energetic, and refreshing with vibrant acidity and a clean, linear structure. The finish is bright and mineral-driven.

Mediterranean seafood platters, oysters, grilled shrimp, lemony pasta dishes.

Personal Pick:
One of those wines that instantly feels coastal and refreshing. Perfect for seafood and warm weather sipping.

Verdict:
Bright, citrusy, and vibrant. A great example of Slovenia’s lesser-known native varieties.
