Took this chilled on a Long bike ride to have with lunch. Loved the crispness and the grapefruit flavor was really refreshing. — 6 years ago
Very smooth and drinkable — 7 years ago
On the burgundy by bike tour. Excellent typical Pinot noir of the area. Great with the beef Bourgogne for lunch — 8 years ago
Vacations that involve both cycling and wine are the absolute best. Already thinking of where to go in 2023.
Last night my neighbors shared this gem that they brought back from a recent Bordeaux wine and bike holiday. (Note to self to spend more time with the fun neighbors 😁).
The 2014 Château Destieux was super approachable after a short decant. Very ripe concentrated fruit, but not in a bad way. Complex with soft tannins. 14.5% ABV. Really a lovely bottle.
Rule #64 Remember to bring back a bottle (or bottles) while traveling. The subsequent stories about the adventure will pair perfectly with that wine. — 4 years ago
My favorite wine from this day forward. My best friend asked me to replace a few parts on his bike (socially distant). As I'm placing his bike on a work stand, he pulls out two wine glasses and this bottle. He asked me to officiate his wedding. I'm geeking out! — 6 years ago
New tires for my bike. This wine matches the feeling, in an olfactory sense. Add peaches, smoke and lemon curd. Warmer than the 2015. — 6 years ago
Trying out all the highly rated $10.00-$20.00 whites to guzzle during the summer heat & Beach bike rides. This is a wine advocate 91 for $15.00
1. Novellum,ridiculous for $10.00
2. Substance
3. This one
4. Matias Santa Lucia Highlands
But basically splitting hairs on all of them,
Matias is the most complex. — 7 years ago
Fizzy light and suprising. Like jumping on a trampoline, riding a bike with the wind in your hair — 7 years ago
Drinking local in the Grand Valley AVA (Palisade CO). Such a fun place to visit....wineries on bike, exceptionally lazy today so electric assisted (like a golf cart on two wheels). Colorado has a lot of mediocre wine but Petite Verdot has been an exception. Dark fruit, oaked, old world feel. Surprising. — 8 years ago
Wha wha weeee waaah. Teleportation straight back to burgundy - escargot under the clock tower, lunch on a bike ride of the country. Beast. Doesn’t get much better. — 5 years ago
Lemon honey grassy. Bike tour. — 5 years ago
Popped and poured. Stewed dark brambles and Luxardo cherries with pie crust, Herbs de Provence (the American stuff with the lavender) and freshly cracked black pepper. On the palate, again brandied cherries and dusty dirty country road (riding my bike tells me that). Very good Paso Zin. — 6 years ago
Fragile ice crackles beneath yellow velvet thigh-highs in a field of sourdough; in the distance, Dax Shepard does dirt bike tricks in Daisy Dukes. — 7 years ago
Juicy fruits hint of oak and spicy. Perfect sipping after a bike trip — 8 years ago

I rode 50km by bike to buy this wine. It does need cellaring. But already at 8 years old, should be good — 2 years ago
