A beauty of a wine. After some air it’s fruity, vibrant and the acid is refreshingly delicate — 2 months ago

Not the blend….but the Laurence Reserve Cab Sav. Excellent. At the winery. — 2 years ago
Deep ruby with a hint of purple. Aromas of oak, blackberry, cherry, vanilla, and licorice. The palate offers ripe raspberry, blueberry, and plum, with smoky notes that soften after a 4.5-hour decant. The alcohol is noticeable but more balanced with air. Full-bodied with medium-plus tannins, high acidity, and a smooth, velvety texture. Drinking well now but has good aging potential.

Very nice balance of the grapes. Pairs well with grilled chicken and pork. — 3 months ago
Perfectly ripe black and red fruit. Grippy tannins, but still gives a nice mouthfeel. Not a lot of complexity. Great wine that has a lot of life left. Really enjoyable but hard to see how RP gave it a 100. — 8 months ago

Popped and poured but not something I would recommend. The 2017 Cuvée Réservée benefited from some time in the decanter and the Cuvée Laurence would enjoy the same. However, a decanter we had not; nor was the setting appropriate. And while I wouldn’t have described this as shy upon opening, it certainly went from strength to strength with exposure to air and by the last glass, this was sensational. Beautiful dark bramble fruit, salmiakki, black pepper, red flowers, bacon fat, garrigue, old wood, and exotic spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long lasting and ever so sexy. As a reminder, no “Cuvee da Capo” was made in 2017 so there’s no wonder why this is special. Drink now through 2042. — 7 days ago
