Suave en boca. Al final un toque amrago. Ideal para acompañar carnes rojas. — 8 years ago
On the nose; banana peel, white spring flowers, cut grass, slight cat pee & vegetal character, lemon custard & lime.
The palate is drier in style than the Estate. It’s also more elegant. Lemonhead candy, sour notes, green melon, guava, soft, delicate, minerality, sea spray, saline, beautiful acidy with a long, well rounded, elegant finish.

Fruit-driven Cab from 20-25 years old vines in Isla de Maipo, just south of Santiago. Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, and aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Quite jammy nose with aromas of dark fruit (blackberry, cassis, blackberry gummies), red fruit (strawberry, strawberry jam) and hints of bell pepper and tobacco. Medium-bodied, ripe fruit flavors. Very fresh on the palate. Long, spicy finish — 3 years ago
This is one of the best wines I've ever had, if not the best. I've visited El Legado, so maybe I have a bias here. But I'd recommend this wine to anyone. It has a powerfully complex taste that will keep you thinking about it long after you've finished the bottle. I drank this bottle one year after being in El Legado, and it was still perfect. — 6 years ago

ESF
bump for age, price & novelty: found this dusty bottle at bottom of shelf, recognized estate as old school Chilean, so for $20 could not pass it up: still really inky no bricking, initially shy & reductive, after 2 hrs started to strut w/gobs of dark fruit, licorice, herbs and spice. Varietally correct & showing youthful a decade on... med+ weight, balanced acidity, superb ripe fruit quality mingled with pepper & spice leading to impressive finish. — 5 months ago
