Lulu Vigneron was previously known as Les Chais du Vieux Bourg. It's a little hard to find info on this wine, but I think it's the same 05' Vin Jaune released under the previous name with a little more age under flor (11 years according to the importer). No notes were taken when I had it, but I remember being thoroughly impressed. Vaguely - the nose is on the sweeter, creamier style of Vin Jaune. Palate was remarkably juicy and crystalline. Would like to drink it again! — 7 years ago
At uncle chais. I like this one! — 2 years ago
Classic GSM blend! Not any berry notes left but instead you get the terroir. Some taste of prune too. It has aged nicely and softened on the palate. — 3 years ago
Showing a lot of character, not much acidity... 8 years old. Soft tannins... first few sips were like cru Beaujolais ! — 6 years ago
Made from oldest vines in Otago grown around the cellar door - all of 35yrs old! By far the most complex of the single vineyards. More elegant, and less tannic but still packs a punch. Lots going on here, but yet to unfurl — 7 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Dark Ruby color with aromas of berry fruit with earthy spice tones. On the palate cherry and blackberry flavors with pepper spice, tobacco and cacao on fine dusty tannins. Medium+ finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with fruit and an oak mineral character. — 16 days ago
