Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965, with a goal to produce world-class sparkling wines, passing torch to their son Hugh. A blend of mostly Pinot Noir and <20% Chardonnay (blend varies each year) with stone and berry fruit aromas and earthy spice. On the palate the light mousse shows raspberry, peach and mango flavors with nutty biscuit and slight baking spice notes. The nose is quite similar to the Londer Vineyard (Anderson Valley as well) bottling of the same 2013 vintage, with bouquet of blueberry, raspberry, steep red tea, vanilla, mushroom, and warm spices. Layered and supple, the palate is more savory on the palate than the nose suggests. Ripe candied tannins.

Lovely bouquet of raspberry, cherry cola, steep red tea, licorice, mushroom, and light baking spice. Medium body and acidity. A bit leaner than I expected on the palate. Good texture. Resolved tannins. — 2 years ago
