Pretty nose with a nice spiced pear, lychee, white grapefruit, and a dash of kerosene. At first taste it's a touch sweet, but the bracing acid manages to make it perceive rather dry, notes of pink grapefruit, lime, honey and lavender. All in all a solid #nmwine #value #other46 — 9 years ago

Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

2007 in 2016. Fruit has fallen and has become a little port, a little tawny, but there's a vanillin, a dustiness over dried red fruit and prune that reminds me of a great old Rioja that made me really enjoy this. — 10 years ago

Tank 12 Mimbers Valley Red Blend Series 2017

67/14/13/5/1 blend of Dolcetto, Montepulciano, Aglianico, Graciano and Lemberger. Garnet red, light to moderately extracted pigment. Rounded, soft mouthfeel. The Dolcetto dominates to my palate, but a bit of research suggests a hint of licorice flavor and maybe black cherry from the Dolcetto, plum from the Montepulciano and Aglianico, a hint of cocoa or chocolate from the Aglianico. Decent, good acidity, some tannins on finish, good value. Better than many comparable Italian imports. Love that screw cap too! 1055 cases made. No AVA or vineyard designation on label, just “American”. Winery tasting notes also mention orange peel notes and “dusty tannins”; barrel smoke emerges after a couple of hours. — 6 years ago

Mimbres Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Lemon in color with a green tint.

Strong nose of citrus, green and red apples, spices, light pineapples, lemons and light grapefruits.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with limes, lemons, apples and grapefruit juice.

Tangy finish with spices and limes.

This is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc from Arizona. Nicely balanced with nice complexity. Fruit forward, refreshing and rich.

I had the 2019 vintage sometime earlier this year. This 2020 vintage is much better for me.

Good by itself as a sipping wine. I had it with cheeses and crackers by the lake.

12.6% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$28.

@"Odedi", never had an Arizona wine. I once included an Oklahoma Zinfandel (grapes grown there) in a Zin tasting, my friends all were convinced the juice was from California, and wine was made in Oklahoma — I said nope, estate bottled and grown in Oklahoma!!

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2015

I was looking for something to pair with a binge on the new season of Better Call Saul. For scenes of Albuquerque and Santa Fe I needed something simple yet classic, but not tired. The New Mexico sun had me thinking white. Something from the "what's old is new" category seemed appropriate as well. And if Jimmy isn't Chardonnay...

Some new oak, but no malo. Lemon custard, caramelized apple, and orange blossom. Parker calls it "premier cru Chablis-like" and I wouldn't disagree. A balanced, and even bipolar, round and racy character. This fit the bill perfectly.
