N°24 Grand Siècle Grande Cuvée Champagne Blend

Somm David T
9.4

Beautiful bottle. It’s a blend of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir from 11 Grand Cru vineyards. 100% Grand Cru Vineyards; Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Cramant, Ambonnay & Bouzy The assemblage is from 2004, 2006, and 2007 and aged at least a decade.

Lots of citrus blend, green apple, some pineapple, gritty chalk, nice volcanics, brioche, cream, vanilla, caramel, spring flowers, crisp acidity and beautiful finish.

N°25 Grand Siècle Grande Cuvée Champagne Blend

The traditional family dinner for Xmas with a wine tasting - I always wanted to taste the 25 and 26 side by side :). The 25 is a wonderful rendition that keeps delivering on the promise of LPGS. Crisp and balanced. — 5 months ago

Morgon N Gamay 2021

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 “N” (Sans Soufre) is identical to the standard Morgon except it’s bottled without the addition of, you guessed it, sulfur. It pours a slightly dull ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of fresh and funky dark cherry, strawberry, raspberry, licorice, red flowers, some horse blanket, green herbs and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium with lovely minerality. In a year that is often maligned (not by me), this was absolutely gorgeous. You just kept wanting to go back to the glass and smell it. Drink now through 2036, probably. — 7 months ago

Dry Red N°1 Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Drank after the 2005 No. 2. Some similarities but the No 1 shows beautiful tannins from the Cabernet. — 9 months ago

Brut Rosé Champagne Chardonnay Blend

Enjoyed this bottle on NYE. did not disappoint. Interesting subtle tangerine tastes lingered on the tongue that I’d forgotten about. This one n/v was bottled in early 2022. Been in my possession about 2 years. — 4 months ago
