Really loving this hearty (deappellated) Etna Rosso with cavatelli smothered in lamb & beef ragout. A little tannic and stilted at first. This is a wine that needs food and a bit of of time after opening to relax and unfold. So many layers here: Carob, bay laurel, baked tomato, dried Mountmorency cherries, a touch of smoke/ash. Rustic, yet polished and sophisticated. — a month ago
Oldest Benanti vineyard. Planted in 1910. I grafted pre-phloxerra. 90% Nero mascalese and 10% nerelo cappucio. — 15 days ago
Do not pass up an opportunity to buy this wine. Expensive Nerello but worth every cent. Tart red fruit with smoke and scorched earth. Complex but very easy drinking. — 21 days ago

2022 Etna Rosso santo spirito: light dark soil, very loose and sandy. lighter cherry and fruitier nose, on the palate, cherry, heavy minerals. Strong tannins. Very popular wine. Very deep vines. — 15 days ago
Very rich and deep with smoke, graphite, and plum with cherry. You can taste the sunshine in this one. — a month ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Medium Ruby with aromas of berry fruits and floral notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, raspberry and red plum with pepper spice, burnt toast and herbs. Fine tannins, medium finish ending with raw fruit, spice and earthy character. Nice now! — 11 hours ago
