Nero Grande

Donnafugata

Mille e Una Notte Nero d'Avola 2020

Disappointing
Specially in relation to the price
This is the first important label from donnafugata, first release dates back to the 80s i reckon
It falls short, it isn't bad,but i reckon this would be in a wine shop 180/200 dollars
It must be better

Domaine Francois Lamarche

La Grande Rue Grand Cru Monopole Pinot Noir 2017

Light medium ruby , with wide garnet rim . Slightly smoky red fruits , with red cherry , strawberry compote , cranberry , fruit pastels , slightly herbal at first and becomes more noticeable with time . On the palate quite light sweet , strawberry , cherry , red currant , with a touch of spice, slightly saline also . Velvety medium tannins, fresh acidity , good length with slightly mineral , herbal and chalky finish . This shows quite young and will be probably better in 3-5 years and will last well a further 10 . — a day ago

Saia Sicilia Nero d'Avola 2021

Delectable Wine
9.1

A captivating blend of crushed violets, lavender, blackberries and wet stone wafts up from the 2021 Saia. Cool-toned and lifted in feel, a potent core of ripe red and blue fruits provides a framework as juicy acidity adds freshness. An enjoyably bitter tinge of tangerine forms toward the close. Staining and long, the 2021 finishes off with a coating of fine tannins and a saturation of primary concentration that creates a slightly chewy sensation toward the close. This is a fantastic and energetic rendition of Saia, a varietal Nero d'Avola that I expect will age quite nicely. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2024)

Gosset

Grande Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

Luminous, golden hue. The nose shows freshness and fruit with notes of lemon meringue pie followed by yellow fruit such as Mirabelle plums. Then, as the Champagne warms up, aromas of plums with slightly honeyed and toasted notes start to come through. The Champagne confirms its richness and volume. The Pinot Noir endows it with structure and depth. Hawthorn and white flower aromas fuse naturally together in a fine acidity sustained by citrus fruit. — 19 days ago
