Prestige Brut Grand Cru Champagne Champagne Blend 2005

Don’t think this is the same sku…this is vintage- this out of Magnum. 2005 and disgorged date was 8/2022. 17yr on lees!! This wine was incredible. Rich, deep and leesy without being overblown or nutty. The color was great. Brilliant hay. In a line up of amazing, rare and prized wines, this was the wine of the night and made everyone pause. — 4 months ago

Collection Millesimes Brut Grand Cru Champagne 2005

Super biscuity, slight oxidation. Medium bodied. Interesting, but can’t help but feel like I would have gotten more for my $99 with a nice grosses gewachs or even a burgundy — 9 months ago

Brut Millésimé Grand Cru Champagne Blend 2013

Maurice Vesselle is a récoltant whose small estate of maybe 15 acres, is in Bouzy and Tours sur Marnes. Most of their vineyards, all Grand Cru, are dedicated to Pinot Noir with the balance, Chardonnay. They are a strict no-malo, all INOX producer. One other note, the corks on these bottles are so stubborn. I had one hell of a time getting it extracted in an elegant fashion. We had people over and I was multitasking, making the risotto which, of course, needed my undivided attention. Ultimately, I ended up grabbing the Wüsthof and sabering that mf’er.

So, sabered and poured. The wine is a straw color with medium- viscosity and a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of strawberry, light brioche, lemons, marzipan and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, mineral driven and zippy! This needs a ton of air at this stage but if you allow it, what a treat! Better after 2025 through 2043. The Millésimé is typically 80/20, Pinot Noir/Chardonnay. Dosage 4g/l (and seems it). Disgorged June 2023.

L'Expression Nature Brut Nature Champagne Blend

Interesting. Not what I expected. Looks like rose gold in glass. Nose is earthy almost, bread, cured lemon. Palate is very expressive. Berries, peach cobbler with oats, vanilla, pear and apple. Finish is almonds, lemons, red apple. I want to like but I don’t really like it. — 9 months ago

Cuvée Le Petit Clos Bouzy Grand Cru Brut Pinot Noir 2006

This bottle was off - Le Petit Clos is a fav of min. I’ve had 3 bottles previously of this vintage, all well integrated, smooth, leaving you wishing for more. A bit unbalanced, lacked floral notes and had a strong acidic finish. I’m going to just leave my other bottles for a couple of years before revisiting. — 2 years ago
