Nine Hats Columbia Valley Merlot 2016
Color of different shades of purple. Nose of nice spice, oak, vanilla, black cherry, and more oaky note. Nose is pretty good. Taste follows the nose, almost no tannins, smooth, a lot of cedar and oak note, sweet dark fruits, mellow and easy to drink. Aftertaste shows some zest, ripe grapes, and even more oak note. Khikhvi 2019
Fun wine, extended skin contact - looks like a Rose and tasted like one too: mix between tart red fruit & savory notes, some potpourri, fairly exotic. Palate was bit more austere, open canvas for variety of light fare. We had huge salad w/smoked salmon and it was fantastic. Balanced and dry finish, go find some Georgian wine! — 3 months ago

Realm Cellars
Houyi Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Been a big fan of Nine Suns for years. This was first bottle of Realm’s Houyi vineyard I’ve tried from my cellar. I believe ‘13 was Realm’s first year with Houyi fruit. The nose is incredible. With an hour decant, the wine is silky and seductive. The fruit is perfectly matched by the tannins and acidity. Everything working together perfectly. The fruit is bold and black, lovely minerality. Just an incredible mouthfeel. Nice finish. Next time I have this ‘13 I’ll have to have it side by side with a Nine Suns ‘13. This is drinking fantastic right now. — 10 months ago
