It feels really nice to be back home with my pretty little wife. Brandon is good company, but he's not much of a kisser.
This wine is light and lively, though inky dark purple. Strawberry aromatics, strawberry and plum flavors. A little fizzy sensation on the tongue.

Vintage 2022 | if there was an Oscar for drinkability, this Burgundy would be a winner. Treacherous simple it seems but it is a good effort of the vintners. Beautiful Pinot expression in smell. Glou glou in taste, no frayed edges. No tannins whatsoever. Paired with grilled tunafish, red with fish pairs excellent. Do not think of putting it in the cellar, if you can enjoy it so much on a daily base now. Like! — a year ago

Oscar night...had to pick something from the back of the cellar. Double decant and pour(decent chunky sediment). From the 2000 vintage which was cool with rain and not scored well, but there are probably some overlooked gems and this could be included. A stellar dark ruby red with some browning. On the nose: that aged cab sweet perfume with roasted meat, chocolate, black cherry, forest floor, eucalyptus. Taste: lush mouthfeel with red plum, chocolate coffee, minerals, and a vanilla cedar medium finish. — 6 years ago

Gooseberry, star fruit, basil, tomato stem and lime zest. Hint of white peach and jasmine flower. Soft and pleasant on the entry with great lift and acidity throughout the lengthy mid palate and slowly building minerality on the finish. Wonderful balance and finesse. I was at the winery many years ago the day that Sophia Coppola was up for her Oscar for Lost in Translation. I always thought of this as just a brand before that, but watching the tasting room volunteers beam with pride that day reminds me that the wine truly comes from the people that produce it. I know that sounds cheesy. I saw this in the liquor store for a decade before I bought it years ago. And now that many, many years have passed since those early wine years for me, I look at this wine fondly. Which is really what wine is all about. — 8 years ago
