Il Palazzone

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2017

pal of mine just whipped this out from a cabinet in his living room. porcinis, cracked leather, cherries, gorgeous tannin structure. so generous and expressive. feeling like one lucky piece of shit — 3 months ago

Podernuovo A Palazzone

Argirio Cabernet Franc 2018

Grippy tannins, intense. classic Cabernet franc. But well rounded and complex. Really enjoying this as it opens up. Might up the rating. — 7 months ago

Decugnano dei Barbi

Villa Barbi Orvieto Classico Grechetto Blend

2020/4. Quite floral - I’d like to try this again next to some Palazzone, which I remember as much more nutty. — 5 years ago

Palazzone

Terre Vineate Orviéto Classico Superioré Trebbiano Blend 2011

Surprisingly bright for its age with lemon curd and red apple and just a touch of oxidation to add depth. Bruised apple and lemon peel fruit on palate. — 7 years ago

Palazzone Dubini Locatelli

Musco Vino Bianco 2021

Golden colour, peaches, apricots, ananas, dry, aged with bit orange character — 3 months ago

Il Palazzone

Le Due Porte Brunello Di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

This was the 1st vintage from this producers single vineyard plot. “Le Due Porte” with only 2200 btls made. Notes of cherry, plum fruits, dried herbs, licorice & tobacco, silky mouthfeel that needs a few more years in the cellar. — 4 years ago

Podernuovo A Palazzone

Therra Sangiovese Blend 2021

Polished super Tuscan. No jagged edges, black fruits including black currants, blackberries & cassis both on nose & palate, probably spurred by the Cab Sauvignon. Quite substantial mouthfeel but not out of balance, & earthy, almost chalky finish so it’s Italian soul comes through. Preceded an Argentine Asado cooked by (Argentine) friends- imagine it would fit right in w the smoky, salty meats — 6 months ago

Giacomo Mori

Palazzone White Blend 2019

Dense and creamy. Almonds, apricot, blossom. Very rich and powerful. Decent but obvious use of wood. Also quite an obscure wine: nothing to find about this on the internet. Admirably persistent in the lingering finish. Totally interesting. — 4 years ago
