A rich but now well balanced Zin in that ripe style that I’d likely not have been too fond of when it was younger. Bottle coated with sediment and oak is prominent in how it’s resolved with plummy berry vanilla notes. Back label says a field blend of Zin Carignane and Petit Sirah, Alexander Valley vineyard, vines cultivated on St. George rootstock grafted onto a 75 year old clone of Zin. — 5 years ago

I love this wine and have urged Sharon Harris (owner of Rarecat Wine - full disclosure, a friend of mine) to start making this wine again. The color is a beautiful golden and the taste is a tropical explosion, with lots of Meyer lemons and caramel. Very hard to find, but if you do, buy it! — 8 years ago

I'm not sure what happened to the yellow label with the little dancing guy on it. This is a pleasing sipper, with bright, tart fruit and plenty of acid. One dimensional, but a crowd pleaser and good with pork tenderloin and roasted spaghetti squash.
