Some goji in the mix, and a little peat. Very particular moment. Would crush with curry — a year ago
Sandrine deletang et fils, givry les vignes rondes, givry, Chardonnay 2022
Last wine of the line up. Great minerality, with some chalk on the nose. Some width, some chalky mouthfeel, almost chablisiesque. Probably the crowd's champion tonight. — a year ago

2022 vintage. Lots of changes in 2022, as Xavier Planty sold his shares to Matthieu Gufflet. Xavier's son, Luc Planty took care of a smooth transition ( check him out for his ambitious project at Château de Malle!) when Sandrine Garbay (Château Yquem's maître de chai for more than 2 decades) was nominated as a general manager. Her first vintage is excellent, with beautiful aromatics (roasted pineapple, vanilla, mango, honey, and flowers). Layered and intense with lots of botrytis, but also an amazingly refreshing acidity which reminds me of the 2014 Sauternes vintage. Exquisite balance, layered, and with a very long, fresh finish with a subtle almond bitterness. Excellent, and still very affordable for this quality. A pleasure to taste now, but I expect true magic in a decade or more. Ab. 13,5%. — 3 months ago

Happy New Year! 🎉🎈🎆🎊 🧨
From Mag. 96 an excellent vintage. Magnum is the preferred storage for Champagne.
You can sense the age from the very first sip.
Nose has a little bruised apple & pear, apple cider, dry apricots, malt, notes of caramel, sugar in the raw, cream, sea spray/fossils, understated lemon/lime pulp, slightly fermented pineapple, white spice, baguette crust, graham crackers, withering yellow flowers, lilies.
The palate is bruised apple & pear, apple cider, dry apricots, malt, notes of caramel, sugar in the raw, cream, sea spray/fossils, understated lemon/lime pulp, slightly fermented pineapple, yellow melons, white spice, baguette crust, graham crackers, hints of understated maple soda , limestone marl, crumbly, moist, white chalk, withering yellow flowers, lilies, perfect, racy acidity, excellent; balance, tension, structure and a smartly polished finish that last minutes and falls in white spice and minerals. — 7 days ago
