Sauvignon Blanc Blend

Château d'Yquem

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 1997

Love this vintage for Yquem, one of my favorites in this time period along with 88, 90 and 01. Halfsie tonight to pair with the foie gras and then dessert! Nectar of the gods 😚 — 9 days ago

Marchesi Antinori

Solaia Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2019

Breathtaking… as complete and as rounded a Solaia as I have ever had. Great aromatics. The perfume was strong and the dark fruit was full of live but also rich. It was as interesting in the 3rd hour as the first. Fantastic bottle! This is why I love wine… — 11 days ago

Surprisingly no. I was shocked at how developed it was already.

Dominus Estate

Dominus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2003

Served alongside beef short rib, xo sauce, pickled mustard seed, cumin stir-fried asparagus. Yes, the 2003 Dominus is big. However, it is also balanced and showing classic Napa typicity with beautifully ripe and some slightly wizened black and red fruit, tobacco, cocoa, some purple flowers and baking spices. I found this to be quite balanced after all the air it saw. Wonderful structure for continued aging as well. Drink now through 2043. — 2 days ago

Château Guiraud

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2009

2009 vintage ( half bottle). Looks more evolved than the 2010 tasted alongside. But it is also much more complex. Intense perfume showing an abundance of noble rot, with roasted nuts, pineapple, honey, and a hint of thyme. Concentrated and layered, perfectly balanced and very long. Seems to be a notch above the 2010 today — 14 days ago

Ridge Vineyards

Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1985

Enjoyed alongside some other Napa legends from the 80’s and 90’s. The 1985 is lovely and came more than willing, with a mix of tart, ripe and desiccated red fruits, Montmorency cherries, red currants, graphite, toasted coconut, leather and nuts. There was a slightly sherried character early on the nose but the structure seemed to defy age. No need to cellar further as this is delicious now and well stored examples should continue to be through 2030+. — 2 days ago

Also great. More amber in color. Nice balance and not as sweet as the d’yquem. More butterscotch

Château Musar

Hochar Père & Fils Bekaa Valley Red Blend 2020

A very pretty color of dark ruby with a very wide reddish rim.

Beautiful nose of red and black fruits, light cedar, tobacco leaf, earth, licorice, spices, herbs, peppercorn, eucalyptus and dark chocolates.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, cherries, currants, light wood, coffee, spices, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, pencil lead, licorice and black tea.

Long tangy finish with fine grained tannins and raspberries.

This is a delicious Cinsault based blend from Lebanon. What a great surprise. Elegant and spicy. Complex, smooth and well balanced.

This Single Vineyard feels much older than it actually is. Feels like a red Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

This 4 year old is drinking beautifully now, and will continue to drink nicely over the next 5 to 7 years.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, so be patient. Easy drinking and very pleasant, once it opens up.

A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with game meats or lamb dishes.

A blend of 50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in French Oak barrels for 6 months.

14% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$40.
