Drank this during the CellarTracker Virtual Burgundy Tasting last night via Zoom. My first experience with any of the wines of Domaine Julien. This was a pop and pour situation and I wished I had given it more airtime because this was suuuuuuper primary and tightly coiled. Loads of tart, wild alpine strawberries, like the Smultron you find in a Scandinavian forest, taking center stage. Tongue pricking acidity. Beyond that, there isn’t much more at this stage in development. However, the purity is beyond typical for a humble Bourgogne and a few years in the cellar would do this a great service. I expect better things when the tannins better integrate and secondary characteristics begin to appear. Drink with an extended decant or hold until 2025. — 5 years ago

Grinded lightly roasted Scandinavian coffee. Toasted flat bread shavings, lemon and sudachi citrus but gentle. Smoky. Very different from the 1995. Most complex DP I've tried so far. — 7 years ago

Not sure who picked the wines but I’m just ok with this. Scandinavian dinner but I wound have selected a richer wine. This was too austere for me. — 4 days ago
