Medium ruby , quite wide pink rim . Quite exuberant nose , blueberry , raspberry , touch herbal and mineral . On the palate quite smoky notes , and light raspberry fruits , pretty fresh acidity and slightly drying tannins , hints of tar and slate at the end . Quite fresh and interesting , though just misses a bit of length . After a while the tannins become less aggressive and it does seem to fill out more on the palate . Drink over the next 5-8 years . Such a surprise. A really limited run wine of only 853 bottles and really is a good food / conversation wine. Really unusual tannins for a white wine and one that could really divide people...we have thoroughly enjoyed it! — 4 years ago
This wine is a blend of Gewürztraminer, Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The floral and fruity nose is as sweet as could be hoped for, while the palate offers fleshy peach, pear and melon flavors with a nice acidity that begs for food pairing. I had mine with a delicious white pizza, and it was perfect. — 2 years ago

A hint of raspberry. Very pleasant. — 3 years ago
Amazing wine. Aptly named since they were the true Scions of Cab in Alexander Valley (planted in 1963!). This Cab, Cab Franc, Merlot, PV blend is DELICIOUS. Nose of black fruit, chocolate. Entry has acidity, blackberry, leather, smoke, toasty and full bodied. The middle is darker, with fig jam...Herbal. the finish is shorter, acidic, stiff young oak tannin. This will lay down for a LONG TIME. Best Scion I've had, and either the best or number 2 RYEW wine I've ever had. — 8 years ago
