Vivid & crunchy, with red & black fruits in the nose (dark cherry, plums) but also some cloves, a hint of orange zest and some darker earthy notes in the back. A touch of brambly, wild character.
Much fresher vs the Nittnaus Pannobile.
On the palate smooth and with great flow. Nice, velvety tannins, zippy citrus acidity, damson plums, red currants, sour cherries. But also a core of irony minerality.
Very attractive, balancing nicely between the pure fruit and the savoury character. Plus some interesting edges on the side.
High drinkability, too!

Sour cherry and chambord, with a twiggy backbone. Very Austrian, very blaufrankishy! — 3 years ago
A remarkable night of conviviality on a chilly W. Village night, celebrating dear friends’ birthdays. Special shout out to the crew at Babs for making EVERYTHING just right. This Blaufrankish perfect Transition wine from the crudos & incredible fish dishes to main courses. The wine is alive with fine berry fruits & pomegranate & of course low on tannin. — 4 years ago

A Gemischter Satz from Burgenland, slightly naturalistic, a bit funky, highly drinkable.
A flowery nose with some ripe pear, apple, summer meadow but also a salty, herby note adding an interesting edge.
On the palate this is vibrant, energetic, juicy. There’s a bit of grip, a beautiful mouthfeel, nice mid palate presence. Yellow fruit, ripe & a bit bruised, with great juiciness and an underlying salty minerality.
This has character, interesting edges and good depth. And disappears in a blink.

Deep berry and a touch of campfire smoke. Drank in the Berkshires with my oldest friends as we cry laughed. It was perfect. — 23 days ago
