@Tom Casagrande, this was a custom Microcrush, I believe a one-off, from some pretty famous Napa terroir (I was told). Del’s family had been in Napa since at least the early 1900s, he lived just outside St. Helena, and I was told one of his neighbors was Joe Heitz’s son (Mark?), who possibly made this wine. I do not know who Terrell is/was? I think one could replicate this if one had access to good grapes!!

This wine has me trippin. Someone on here mentioned motor oil on pavement—check! And pencil lead. And bitter herbs. And some dried fruit. And lavender. And the the taste of someone starting a V8 engine. And it’s chewy. And dry. And it hits you big but finishes long and elegant but rough around the edges (like I dunno, a Vivienne Westwood or Rick Owens leather jacket). And most importantly, it all weirdly works beautifully.
