6/23 2014 had that nice fruit forward cherry profile. Very solid 89 — 3 years ago
Wonderful nose of spicey oak and intense minerality. Saline. Rock quarry vibes. Lemon pith lemon flesh with hints of sugar. So complex and appealing. Hint of butter and loads of salinity. Nose is just a wonderful perfume. 9.6 nose. Showing so well. Palate is juicy and tensile with a killer rich texture and ample freshness. Chewy and rocky with great finesse and some green apple fruit. Lacey, juicy and slippery. Amazing purity and balance here and almost finished with some dry tannins. Just awesome. Like a white burgundy liquid drop amuse bouche. — 4 years ago
Similar notes to prior bottle opened about one year earlier, but this is showing as fresher and more lively, Yum!
Nose has maraschino cherry, white pepper, dry leather, dried red raspberry, distant barnyard, dried orange peel, granite quarry and dry earth.
Palate has dried cherry, dried raspberry, white chocolate, sweet red pepper, black cherry, old leather with medium acidity. This bottle is showing decent tannins, 3H decant. Enjoy 2022-24, in proper storage.
Our second successful preparation of this dish tonight; chicken, apples and cremé à la normande (cream, onion, mushroom & calvados), Jura looks to accompany cremé & calvados just fine. — 5 years ago

Smells of Game, bramble and blackberries. Mud earth. Tastes, Extracted and full bodied. Vivid. High octane, mocha, mocha, mocha, mocha and wet leather, mulled spices. — 7 years ago
Grand cru white burgundy nose of Chenin. Heaven. Literally heaven. Flowers. Air. Minerals galore. Citrus oil. Like a rock quarry. The fruit in this candy lemon lime slices with sugar on hem. Like a drop of lemon and lime. So vivid. So deep and airy like an ocean mist of Chenin. Insane. Palate is balanced like nothing I’ve had in Savennieres. Massive and concentrated with piercing minerality. Stunning purity. Just insane. It’s so clean and so racy and so precise it seems cut like a diamond. Amazing length. What clarity. What a wine. This is a thrill now but demands and needs age. Stunning. Tangy citrus shows up what seems Ike minutes after it’s done. — 8 years ago
A unique style of CC with minerality leading throughout. There’s pure, intense cherry fruit on the nose, but it takes a back seat to the quarry activity. Same thing goes for the palate. Very intense minerality. Structurally there is quite a bit of soft, chalky tannin and decent acids. The finish ends minerally and with a slight bitter note. Very good, but not the most elegant rendition. Maybe give it a year or two more to come together. — 2 years ago
Huge and expansive nose. Ripe apricot and peach and very confectionary. Grapefruit, citrus, tangerine, tangelo and so much more. An amalgam of stunning fruit on a mineral background. Hugely expressive minerality and just a stunningly mineral nose. Smells like a rock quarry. Awesome. The nose is so deep. Kaleidoscopic and fractal like. Palate is young and tangy with enormous structure but it’s delicate and a little bit hidden. Not that integrated at all but all the parts are there. Incredible fruit sapidity on the finish. Huge mineral/citrus inner mouth aromas. Juicy and mineral but man is this backwards. The finish is super long and the wine is crazy concentrated but massively backwards. I’ll be back. — 4 years ago
Reduction, slighty sulphuric, flinty smoke. On the 2nd day it opened up with red apples and lemonpeel, still some flint and wet stones, very tight and fresh style. Minerality like drinking a quarry. Amazing value. — 7 years ago
Tastes like the bottom of a soft limestone quarry. Full of lime and minerals, a little salty, puckeringly tart but with a nice long finish that mellows out, getting almost buttery. Really really wonderful find. — 8 years ago
Pale lemon color.
Aromas of honeydew, honeysuckle, mineral.
Off-dry. Flavors of baked apple, bruised apple, lime, mineral.
Intensity: 5/5
Complexity: 2/5
Balance: 4/5
Finish: 4/5 — 3 years ago
I’ve gone spelunking in a mineral quarry; it’s huge, bold and beautiful. Definitely more masculine. The tingling acidity keeps it fresh. Lemons and orange peel dominate the palate. The chalky finish keeps going and going. — 5 years ago
A genius Klingelberger. What a nose. So floral. Flower shop levels. Little shop of insane dry Riesling. Gorgeous Mosel like fruit. Smells ripe and sweet but also bone dry. Green apples. Pear. Apricot. So vivid and detailed. Just wonderful. Lime blossom, sweet lime. Endless aromas. Fresh field level 10. But also rock quarry. Staggering young Klingelberger aromas. Palate is epic like a Norwegian Viking documentary epic. Dense, structured, deep man is this deep with just stunning purity and freshness. So vivid and so detailed. This is god level balance. So long. Never ends. The purity of this wine is just incredible. Amazing finesse and elegance and screamingly mineral and very very complex on the finish. This is a staggering young Klingelberger. 9.7. Yup. Just genius. Amazing concentration and depth. Really I can’t get over how good this is. — 6 years ago

1er Cru as of 2019 vintage. Would be a Monopole except half of a row was planted by another owner on what used to be a quarry at bottom of vineyard years ago when word spread that 1er Cru classification was impending.
Les Clos, also owned by Chateau Fuisse, will be the only Pouilly-Fuisse Monopole when 22 vineyards become 1er Cru as of 2019. — 7 years ago
Now THIS is old-school Cotes du Rhône. Aromas of dried garrigue brush and a quarry-full of cracked rock over the top of spicy blackberry skins. So much stony minerality in the mouth, it’s like the Grenache equivalent of a Saint-Joseph Syrah. Very savory, mouthfilling flavors. Tremendous value. — 8 years ago
