Granular, ripe and heavy. Syrupy berry and smokey notes. Quite smooth. Enjoyable? Yes. Whopping alcohol level? Yes. Worth fifty bucks? No. At mom's. — 22 days ago
2013 vintage. Pretty much identical to @Shay A's beyond excellent notes on this wine from 03.31.23. This was from an infuriatingly custom 5L bottle tho. Super-youthful. From this format? An easy 15-20 years of life. From a standard 750ml format? 12-15 years of great drinking. Right in line with Central Coast red Rhône blend/varietals usual ABV%. That is, to say, not exactly bashful. 12.06.24. — 3 months ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Inky in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing much age.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, dried figs, raisins, cedar, licorice, vanilla, tobacco, herbs, spices, cola, light eucalyptus and black pepper
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich, extracted and fruit forward. Soft and elegant, yet in your face kind of wine. Tangy and interesting.
Good right out of the bottle and a great pop and pour wine, with a great nose, right out of the bottle.
This 14 year old Napa Cabernet is drinking beautifully now. Big and juicy. Tannins are nicely integrated by now, and so is the alcohol.
Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
Nicely balanced at this point, and showing a smooth mouthfeel. Complex and interesting by itself as a sipping wine, to share with good friends. It's a shame that this rare wine is no longer being produced.
A great sipping wine that will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
15.4% alcohol by volume.
94 points.

Happy New Year Delectable!
Double decant and pour. A splendid tawny red color. On the nose: dark fruit, cigar ash, cedar, smoked meat, pencil shavings, mint. Taste: soft, silky, elegant, still fresh wine with dark red fruit, worn leather, graphite, loamy soil, spiced herbs, minty black tea and a dry medium finish. YUM! What a fun wine to end 2024 with. A wine bought at auction, and a cork which was not in the best shape, so not sure if this is a true representation of where this wine is at.

A classic Thomas Rivers Brown cab with rich structure, deep color, and wonderful dark fruit, vanilla, and Cacau in the glass. — 7 months ago

I bought this as a test, given that we normally drink the regular Outpost cab. We find no perceptible difference between the True and the regular. Stick with the regular and enjoy the value.
